======================================================================= = LonWorks® PCLTA-10/PCLTA-2X/PCC-10 for Windows 2000 & XP = ======================================================================= =================================== File Version ----------------------------------- PNPLON.SYS 2.02 ----------------------------------- PCC10CFG.CPL 3.04 ----------------------------------- PCLTVDD.DLL 1.02 ----------------------------------- PCLTDOS.SYS 1.01 =================================== (Version descriptions are at the end of this file.) Following the installation process you should re-boot your machine. Please refer to the PCLTA-10/20 and PCC-10 Users Guide for installation instructions. In future releases this document will contain release notes and documentation errata. === Installation Procedures === * The SETUP installation will no longer prompt for the "LonWorks" folder if this has been established by a previous installation. * The prompt to re-boot the PC can be excluded when running the SETUP installation by adding the option "REBOOT=N" to the command line, as in: "L:\setup.exe REBOOT=N" === Pre-existing Conditions === If you have already installed any of these supported LonWorks network interfaces in your PC then you most likely have these devices appearing in the Device Manager as "Unknown Devices". To resolve this condition simply open the Device Manager and "uninstall" them. After installing this software package the OS will then be able to recognize these network interfaces and will set up the appropriate drivers. === Device Naming Conventions === By default the device driver for these network interfaces will create named devices starting with "LON1". If you have other LonWorks products in your system that are also using this name (such as an SLTA-10 or a PCNSI) you will get a driver failure when the driver tries to create this named device. This is known as a 'device name conflict', and a quick way to check for this is to look at the Windows Event Viewer / System events. Look for messages from "PNPLON". To resolve this conflict for this driver use the "LonWorks Plug 'n Play" Control Panel and adjust the device name base. === CONFIG.NT === The installation process inserts a single entry in the file CONFIG.NT which can be found in the Windows folder under "System32". This entry provides support for both DOS and Win16 applications, allowing them to access the network interface. If you change the device name base then you should change this entry if you wish to continue to use this feature. Additionally, if you have more than one LonWorks network interface in your system you may want add new entries to your CONFIG.NT file. For example - device=%SystemRoot%\system32\pcltdos.sys /D1 device=%SystemRoot%\system32\pcltdos.sys /D2 - creates DOS devices LON1 and LON2 which will access the corresponding Windows 2000/XP devices. === PCLTA-20/21 Notes: === The PCLTA-21 uses its own set of system images (for driving the packet LEDs). The PCLTA-20 has always shared system images with the PCLTA-10, and the PCC-10 uses its own unique images. === PCC-10 Notes: === The LonManager Protocol Analyzer is not supported under Windows 2000 or XP. === Mixed Card Types === Unique image file paths are now supported for each network interface. This means that mixing card types in a single system is fully supported. === Versions: === PCC10CFG.CPL (Control Panel): ver 3.04 No longer deletes LON(n) entries that belong to the U10/U20 USB Interfaces. ver 3.03 Naming updates for PCLTA-21 ver 3.02 * Management of the LON(n) device names in the registry, which appear as network interfaces to LNS applications, is now handled upon invocation of the control panel, without the need for clicking "OK" or "Apply". * Non-default LonWorks installation directories are now managed automatically by invoking the control panel. PNPLON.SYS: ver 2.02 Added support for PCLTA-21. ver 2.01 IRP Processing, Cancel Spinlock fix on CloseHandle().
